About Rayleigh Primary School

Rayleigh Primary School is a two-form entry school with its own nursery. It is in the middle of the Essex town of Rayleigh. Rayleigh Primary is the oldest school in the town, opening in 1895 as two separate schools, one for boys and the other for girls. These then became mixed infant and junior schools; then in 1995 the two schools amalgamated to become a primary school.

We became an Academy in 2013. In becoming an academy, we formed a multi-academy trust. In 2018 this became the South Essex Alliance Multi-Academy Trust comprising ourselves, Wyburns Primary School and North Crescent Primary School. As the Trust developed, so did its name, and it is now registered as the Schools for Every Child Trust. We are always looking forward and planning the best path for our school to ensure our children can meet the challenges of the future.
