Morning
Routine
In Year 2 when the children come into school between, 8.45 and 8.55 they are encouraged to sort out their own posessions independently. Reading books, dinner money and lunch boxes are put into appropriate containers and coats hung up. The children then begin independent tasks, usually handwriting, which has been differentiated according to their needs.
Water bottles
Water bottles are permitted and are kept near the sink in both year 2 classrooms. Children are free to drink as long as the teacher is not talking to them, i.e. direct teaching, stories etc. Children should take their water bottle home each day, for cleaning or replacement.
P.E. Kit
All P.E. kit should be named. P.E. bags are sent home at each half term for washing. Parents are asked to check the fitting of plimsolls regularly.
School Council
All classes have a school council representative who has been elected to speak on behalf of their class. Regular class and school council meetings are held.
Eco Representative
Each class has an Eco representative who is responsible for recycling the fruit waste, turning off electrical equipment, and encouraging children to use a plastic container for their snacks. Representatives attend termly meetings to contribute to the school's endeavour to become more eco friendly.
