In year 3 the children are expected to practice their reading skills. Discussion of the story, plots and characters are as important as listening to your child read. We also encouage the children to read a wider range of texts rather than just their reading book. This may include electronic texts, non-fiction texts, poetry, newspapers and magazines written for children.
Children will usually be given a piece of Maths and a piece of Literacy homework on a Friday to be returned the following Wednesday. This work will be connected with the topics learned that week and help to consolidate the children's learning.
