Children enter the Early Years (Nursery) at Rayleigh Primary School  at the start of the term that they are 4 years old

and move to the Early Years (Reception) at the start of the term in which they are 5.

This is called the Foundation Stage.

Throughout the Foundation Stage the children are working towards achieving the Early Learning Goals.

They achieve these by playing, talking, observing, experimenting, using their own initiative, responding, sharing,

applying ideas, questionning and being with their peers and with the adults in the environment.

The children have daily access to well planned play activities as well as time for self directed learning.
