Autumn Term Research Project
This term's research homework is a project about castles, all the children have visited the Norman castle at Stansted Mountfitchet as a start, now they need to do some research of their own. This can be from books, the internet and where possible a visit to another castle even if it is a ruin like Hadleigh castle; not forgetting that the Mount in Rayleigh is also the site of a castle.
This term we are asking all the children to carry out the same research project so we can mark and moderate the work across the year group. We are making this project a six week project so the children have plenty of time to complete it and it should not be to onerous. The period of the project does run over half term in case you wish to take your child/family to visit a castle to help with their research. The date for completion is: 20th November 2009
The project is: Castles of Britain
It needs sections with the following headings;
Where are they? (A map with some castles on)
Different types of castle.
When & how were they built?
Life in a castle
People in a castle
Castle at war
Castles today
Castles around the world
All sections should include writing and images. Images can be hand drawn, copied from a computer, photographs or images from brochures.
This project can be handwritten, typed or a mixture of both. It needs to be in your own words, not just copied from a text (we can tell when it is:0) It could be a multimedia presentation that could come to school on a disc or memory stick.
We will mark this project out of 20 marks, 5 marks for each of
