Creativity - PSHCE, Research, Science.

Creativity - Becoming an effective communicator.

This means: children express their ideas and point of view using a variety of technologies in order to make a positive impact.

Examples:- The ability to communicate effectively, responsibly and empathetically in different ways can be shown by:-

  • speaking at an assembly or to a group or meeting (eco school/school council rep).
  • writing articles for school magazines/newsletters or contributing to the school website.
  • presenting unique ideas in a research assignment.
  • being involved in debates in literacy sessions.
  • conducting an interview with someone in order to get a personal perspective on an environmental or historical issue.
  • teaching someone else to do something - peer group/talk partner work in class sessions.
  • taking part confidently in year group performances using a variety of techniques.

Learning Creativity at Rayleigh Primary School.

To achieve these aspirations in a practical sense, we recognise ‘Creativity’ is more that art but it has obvious and bound links with the ‘Arts’. Thus, at Rayleigh we have created Creativity Modules that focus on the Arts. These include a performance which is a key entitlement for children in creativity that allows us to infuse wider learning into the curriculum. Furthermore, we stress the role of talk in exploring and challenging ideas to produce a unique outcome. It is the habits of mind we seek to develop, imagination, originality, self-expression and possibility thinking.

Our creativity modules are listed below.
