The day Henry VIII came to school.
To celebrate the 500th anniversary of the accession of Henry VIII we held a whole week of special events in school, with visiting experts, exciting activities and a colourful pageant to finish the week.

Thursday evening we had an open event where you were invited to come to school to have a go at some of the events that the children had been doing during the week and meet some of the Living Historians who have been working with us. And more than three hundred of you did so.

The sun shone and we had a brilliant day on Friday, the whole school dressed as Tudors and gathered on the playground to see the king as he arrived. Over 250 parents and other family members also joined in our celebration. Thank you very much for coming.

The Pageant was a fantastic opportunity for us to gather as a whole school community to celebrate some of the work that had been done in school during the week. Good King Hal sat on his throne so the children were able to present their work to him. Families were invited to come and join in the pageant and see the work that had been done.
During the week we will had teams of roving reporters who updated pages here each day from Tuesday with photos and brief news stories about what had been happening.
