| Curtesies
In days gone by, people were more polite. You would great eachother when you met and even if you passed in the street you would say 'Good Day'. If you met someone who was of higher status than yourself you would bow or curtsey, especially if they were rich and important. If you were lucky enough to meet the King then it was very important that you behaved appropriately, being rude to the King was an act of treachery.
So it was important we all learnt how to bow and curtsey so we could welcome the King appropriately.
