Tudor Cooking

During the week Year Three learnt about food in Tudor times. They made bread with Mrs Dunt, so they would have white manchett to present to the King and they also made pottage with Taggy and her daughter, Maggot. Pottage was the standard hot food that poor people ate, it was made from what ever was available, usually some vegetables and pulses. They also made 'cheesey farts', which are made from breadcrumbs, egg and cheese. The pottage and farts were prepared in the classroom and cooked in the Living History Encampment.
