| Music -
Music lessons at Rayleigh Primary School include a wide range of musical activities including listening, composing and performing that are presented in a range of topics covering all parts of primary music education throughout Key Stages 1 and 2.
Listening includes many different examples of music from different genres and from all over the world. Composition allows the children to use ideas from their listening work and to express their own ideas through the use of the musical language. In performance, the children are open to a wide range of percussion instruments in the classroom to perform what they have composed and to read a basic form of music notation. During the Christmas period we also sing and at various points in the year, each year group has the chance to work on their play, where together with drama, the children practice for their performance.
As well as the above, children are encouraged to join in with musical games, songs and other fun activities that will hopefully encourage your children to value this wonderful subject.
