| Comenius International Projects

Working with schools in other countries has been very important to Rayleigh Primary school for several years now, we have had successful links with schools all over the world, including China, Australia, and Kenya. We have been working with one school in France now for three years and ALL of our children share work with them. Recently we have become involved in some very exciting international work.
Rayleigh Primary School is now a partner in two Comenius projects. Comenius projects promote schools all over Europe linking together to work on joint projects. All the schools in a project are funded by their own national agency (in the case of English schools, the British Council). Each school is funded to move staff and sometimes children around Europe to work on these joint projects. Each Comenius project runs for two years.
The first project our school is involved in is called "From the Waste Basket" and this started in August 2009 and will finish August 2011.
The second project is called The European Library Train and started in in August 2010 running until 2012.
